Manufacturing and the Environment

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Revitalizing US manufacturing while fighting global warming is the topic of a forum at the Economic Policy Institute (EPI) Wednesday. Speakers will discuss the continued importance of manufacturing in today’s economy and the role a strong domestic manufacturing sector can play in promoting renewable energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) will be the keynote speaker at the event. The event is timed in conjunction with the release of three new reports on US manufacturing and is part EPI’s Agenda for Shared Prosperity.
