Letter Carriers Deliver Bowling Team Victory

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)The letter carriers delivered a convincing win at Sunday's Bowling for Gold Tournament, as NALC Local 142's Jackie McKinnon, Cynthia Walton, Christopher Lee, Darnell Bell, and Jim Snow won top team honors with a combined score of 3129 for three games. Milton Pitt rolled 746 over three games to win the top individual prize. "Thanks to all the teams and volunteers that made this year's event another success," says Community Services Agency (CSA) Executive Director Kathleen McKirchy. CWA 2108's "Fully Loaded" team - Yvonne Smith, Pamela Gunn, Lashan Payton, Kelvin Gunn, and Ron Smith - took second in the team category with a score of 3084 and the Printcraft "Knock-M-Down II" team - David Brooks, Deon Hamlett, Sterling Proctor, Jr., Jeff Anderson, and Tubar Thompson - placed third with a score of 3014. Rolling combined individual scores of 701 and 696 respectively, NALC 142's Darnell Bell and "Fully Loaded" team member Ron Smith also took home second and third place. "Prizes will also be given for the most pledges collected by a team and individual," says CSA Executive Director Kathleen McKirchy. "Pledges must be in by February 15, 2008!"
