APALA Kicks Off '08

Looking back at local and national successes in 2007 and strategizing for 2008 is the focus of the DC Chapter of the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA) New Year Kick-Off event this Thursday. The event is open to all and will feature food and drinks. Founded in 1992, APALA is the first and only national organization of Asian and Pacific American union members. APALA organizes and works with Asian and Pacific American workers, many of them immigrants, to build the labor movement and address exploitative conditions across industries.
