The Other Georgia

Members of a delegation from the Georgian Trade Union Confederation (GTUC) met with Metro Council UNION Cities Coordinator Chris Garlock Thursday afternoon at the Solidarity Center. The GTUC - led by President Irakli Petriashvili (3rd from left) -- reorganized their structure in 2005, away from Soviet models and towards Western trade union models to include democratic elections for union officials, and are visiting the U.S. to study the role of American trade unions in a pluralistic democracy.
