Help for the Homeless From Library Workers

Wednesday, January 16, 2008

Twelve boxes of personal care items donated by Library of Congress staffers were delivered to Joseph's House during the recent holiday season. Joseph’s is a home in Adams Morgan for homeless men and women who are terminally ill.  The donations were collected during a "Holiday Donations" drive sponsored by the Employees' Union (AFSCME 2477) and the Guild (AFSCME 2910). “Special thanks to union members Jennifer Harbster, Paulette Williams and Juanita Betts,” says AFSCME 2910’s Saul Schniderman.
