Using Art & Creativity to Build the Movement

Monday, January 14, 2008

"Just feeling the energy of so many creative and dedicated people lifts my spirit," says AFGE’s Charles Bernhardt about the Great Labor Arts Exchange (GLAE) () and Conference on Creative Organizing. Organized by the Labor Heritage Foundation and the National Labor College, the Arts Exchange – celebrating 30 years this June 22-24 -- brings together labor activists, rank-and-filers and leaders who explore how to use art, music and film to strengthen the labor movement. The Arts Exchange runs concurrently with the 11th Annual Conference on Creative Organizing, a three-day event that trains union staff and organizers in creative strategies for organizing campaigns. "It’s a good program for any group that wants to pump a little life into their campaigns," says Jeri Cooper of UAW Local 651. Early registration is now being accepted for both events; click here to register.
