Manor Care Says Bah Humbug

Friday, December 21, 2007

Manor Care Health Services kicked out Santa Claus Wednesday in Wheaton. Healthcare advocates had donned a Santa suit to deliver rubber gloves, diapers, and wipes to Manor Care to express their concern that the CEO windfalls from the Carlyle buyout could come at the cost of service for residents. But Santa and friends "got kicked to the curb twice," reports SEIU 1199's Stacey Mink. "And they wouldn't take our Christmas presents." SEIU plans to continue pushing for improvements in services in the New Year at Manor Care nursing homes across the nation.
