Transit Worker Hopes for Happy Holidays

Thursday, December 13, 2007

If enough contributions come in for the Community Services Agency’s (CSA) ongoing Holiday Basket drive, the holidays will be a little brighter for a local transit worker and her three children. After four surgeries kept her out of work – and without an income – the transit worker’s water was cut off, and she had to apply for food stamps to feed her kids. While she expects to go back to work at the end of the year, without a helping union hand, there won’t be much under the Christmas tree this year. Help fill CSA’s Holiday Baskets with donations of toys, food or contributions; contact Kathleen McKirchy at 202 974-8221, kmckirch@dclaborarchives.org.
