Georgetown Students Take on Nike

Wednesday, November 28, 2007

Completing a trifecta of taking on top corporate abusers, Georgetown students will confront Nike this afternoon. The students held counter-demonstrations on campus in September against Wal-Mart and Starbucks representatives, and today will counter a Nike executive's claims of social responsibility by the corporation accused of sweatshop abuse. "Through our interactions with workers at Nike factories, it's obvious that Nike perpetuates human rights violations and problems in the global supply chain," says the Georgetown Solidarity Committee, who organized today's event.
