Loach Gets Labor Filmfest "Tony" Award

Illness prevented Loach from attending the DC Labor FilmFest last month, when the award was presented. "I still have the rather unfashionable view that the most progressive force in society is the organised working class," Loach wrote to FilmFest attendees last month. "Clearly, we must make links across national boundaries and plan and act on an international scale. Thank you for showing our films and good luck in all your projects."
