Helping WPFW Build a New Home

Friday, November 16, 2007

For 30 years, WPFW has brought the voices of workers to the metro Washington airwaves. “Now it’s time for us to guarantee that our voices continue to be heard,” says Metro Washington Council President Jos Williams, who’s serving as Co-Chair -- along with Co-Chair Roscoe Dellums and Honorary Chair Congressman John Conyers -- for WPFW’s 30th Anniversary Gala and Pacifica Peace & Justice Awards on December 15. After three decades of community service, WPFW is launching a building fund campaign to build a permanent home for a broadcast facility offering increased educational and training opportunities to people from all walks of life. “Please join me in strongly supporting WPFW by taking an ad in the Gala’s Souvenir Program Booklet and purchasing tickets for the December 15 Gala,” Williams urges, “where we plan to honor leading activists like Michael Moore, Harry Belafonte, Ruby Dee and Amy Goodman, while enjoying top-notch entertainment from Sweet Honey in the Rock, Sonny Rollins, McCoy Tyner and more.” Click here for details.
