NOVA JANITORS WALK OFF JOB TO PROTEST UNIONBUSTING: Dozens of janitors in Northern Virginia walked off the job Wednesday to protest management unionbusting and intimidation, reports William Flook of the Examiner. "This is the largest strike we have had in Virginia," SEIU Local 32BJ capital area director Jaime Contreras told the Examiner. The actions stretched from Fairfax to Arlington county, targeting "office and retail centers in Tysons Corner and Crystal City," Flook reports. Although Virginia is a right-to-work state, “organizing can still be successful as proven in SEIU’s campaign in Houston, Texas,” Contreras told UNION CITY! Janitors also struck in July over similar issues. Click here to read Flook's full story.
