Organizing Across the Americas

Union leaders from Mexico, Brazil and Uruguay will talk about the challenges and victories of their work this Thursday at SEIU. A dozen Latin American union leaders will address issues like how Brazilian unions are tackling Wal-Mart, how progressive presidents in Brazil and Uruguay affect organizing and how Mexican unions are banding together to fight "protection contracts" signed between companies and corrupt unions to avoid real worker power.
