On the Phone for Paid Sick and Safe Days Act

Wednesday, October 31, 2007

Activists will hit the phones Thursday to get the word out about the November 6 rally in support of the Paid Sick and Safe Days Act. The Act – currently before the DC City Council – would provide all DC workers with a limited number of paid days to use when they or a family member falls ill or to address domestic abuse. “We still need volunteers to make phone calls,” says DC Employment Justice Center (EJC) Deputy Director Karen Minatelli. “Volunteers will be trained and given a script to use.” The phone-banking will take place at the EJC from 2-5P and 6-8:30P. For more info, contact Karen Minatelli, kminatelli@dcejc.org; 202-828-9675 ext. 16.
