CWA and Verizon to Begin Early Negotiations

Tuesday, October 30, 2007

Negotiations will begin next month for 55,000 CWA-represented workers at Verizon. After the company asked to begin early bargaining for the Verizon "East" contract which expires next August, the affected locals - including metro-DC area workers in CWA District 2 - agreed to begin talks in November, with a meeting and presentation by the company. "CWA will have an unrestricted agenda in these early negotiations," reported CWA on Monday, "and the discussions will cover the ability of our members to have access to the jobs of the future, in the growth areas of the company, among other critical issues." Once again, CWA will bargain jointly with the IBEW. Click here for the complete story and more CWA news.
