Yes, Virginia, There is a Phonebank

Wednesday, October 17, 2007

Phone banks to turn out the union vote in the upcoming Virginia elections are now up and running at the AFL-CIO. “The Senate races are so important because there is a possibility of taking back the state Senate in Virginia,” reports Karla Garland. “This can only happen if we turn out our union members and their families to vote.” The phone banks run from 10:30A through 8P Monday through Thursday. APALA has already committed to turn out “a couple of lunch hours and also have a couple of 'APALA Nights'!” says Executive Director Gloria Caoile. Contact Rich Barchiese Rbarchie@aflcio.org or Kathy Smith Ksmith@aflcio.org to sign up.
