Labor Filmfest Held Over!

Wednesday, October 17, 2007

Three more screenings of Ken Loach’s award-winning drama "The Wind that Shakes the Barley" have just been added to the DC Labor FilmFest schedule. The film will be shown on Thursday, October 18 at 4:30, 7 and 9:25P. Loach's biggest box office success to date won the 2006 Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and set a record in Ireland as the highest-grossing Irish-made independent film ever. Irish workers from field and country unite in 1920 to form volunteer guerrilla armies to face the ruthless 'Black and Tan' squads that are being shipped from Britain to block Ireland's bid for independence.
