Burma Freedom March Saturday
Friday, October 5, 2007
Protest and march with the US Campaign for Burma in
support of the Burmese peoples' struggle for freedom this Saturday, a Global Day
of Action for a Free Burma called by the International Trade Union
Confederation. "We need to show the Burmese people that we will not tolerate
this bloody crackdown," says Barbara Shailor of the AFL-CIO's International
Department. "We also need to send a loud message to the governments of Burma,
China, and India that they must stop supporting the military regime
immediately." The march starts at 12:30P at the Chinese Embassy; please
wear red - the color of the Buddhist monk's robes -- to show your solidarity
with the Burmese people.
