Wednesday, October 3, 2007

Next Thursday's Opening Night of the 2007 DC Labor Filmfest -- featuring the U.S. Premiere of the newest film from award-winning director Ken Loach, "It's a Free World..." -- will benefit the work of the DC Employment Justice Center. "We're thrilled to be able to honor Ken Loach this year and raise money for the important work of DC EJC, one of DC's most active labor rights organizations for District residents," said Labor FilmFest Co-Director Jos Williams. DC EJC is "dedicated to securing, protecting, and promoting workplace justice in the Metro DC area." Founded on Labor Day 2000, EJC works to ensure the rights of frequently unprotected and vulnerable populations through its legal services, advocacy, and education work.
