Healthcare workers hailed this week's agreement between Specialty Hospitals of America and the District of Columbia to sell and revitalize Greater Southeast Community Hospital (GSCH). "We are pleased that our workers, the community and the patients of Greater Southeast can look forward to continuing services at the hospital," said John Reid, Executive Vice President of 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East. Added DC Nurses Association President Joan Greaves "We look forward to working with Specialty to ensure that GSCH continues to deliver quality patient care. We believe that we are on our way back to once again being a top-notch health care facility." "We kept faith for our hospital," said Calvin Lucas, a union member and a floor tech at the hospital.  "We love Greater Southeast - we've worked together like a family to keep the hospital running.  Now we are looking forward to working together to serve our patients and community with excellent care."
