Labor on the Move (9/20/07)

Thursday, September 20, 2007

DC Employment Justice Center (EJC) Executive Director JUDI CONTI is joining the staff of the National Employment Law Project (NELP). Conti, who co-founded the DC EJC seven years ago with Kerry O'Brien, will help open the DC office of NELP, which does much the same type of work as the DC EJC, but on a national level and is now looking to build a vibrant federal advocacy program. "From two founders in 2000, the EJC has grown to a staff of twelve, and a volunteer corps of well over 200 people," Conti notes, becoming "a well-established and integral part of the DC social and legal services framework." MELVINA FORD, the DC EJC's Deputy Director, has been tapped as the EJC's new Executive Director, and KAREN MINATELLI will assume the role of Deputy Director. The DC EJC's new address is 727 15th Street, NW, 2nd Floor Washington, D.C. 20005; (202) 828-9675 x 14; (202) 828-9190 (fax).
