Filmfest Starts Week with a Laugh

Monday, September 17, 2007

Join director Jeremy Cohen at today's free noontime Labor FilmFest screening exploring the dubious joys of the outplacement office, where everyone just looks like they're working. In Cohen's darkly comic short film "The Great Pretenders," laid-off manager Scott Matter (Kelly Miller) desperately searches for a new job, making endless calls, sending out resumes, and getting "guidance" from career coaches, all so that he can return to stifling corporate drudgery, eccentric co-workers and incompetent bosses. Cohen will be on hand to introduce the film and answer questions afterwards; don't miss this 30-minute comedy, a great way to start off the week!
