Wal-Mart 'Ethics VP' Protested at G'Town Today

Wednesday, September 5, 2007

Georgetown students and faculty will rally this afternoon against a visit by Wal-Mart's Vice-President of Ethical Standards. "We won't be distracted by smooth talk and empty promises about 'ethical standards,'" says the Georgetown Solidarity Committee (GSC) - which organized the rally. This rally will "demand an end to Wal-Mart sweatshops, that Wal-Mart pay living wages, provide employer-paid healthcare and respect workers' right to organize, and that Georgetown" stop hosting dishonest corporate public relations speakers, GSC says.
