Presidential Candidates Take on Worker Issues

Wednesday, August 1, 2007

Democratic presidential candidates will gather in Chicago Tuesday night to answer questions relevant to working families at the AFL-CIO Presidential Candidate Forum. The event – being held at Stadium Field – will air on MSNBC from 7-8:30P and will be hosted by Keith Olbermann. Candidates will take questions from union members in the audience and answer questions submitted online to the Working Families Vote 2008 website on a variety of topics, including health care, retirement, jobs, wages, trade, education and the Iraq occupation. More than 2,200 people have already submitted questions to the website and another 25,000 have voted in the AFL-CIO’s “What Do You Want to Ask the Candidates?” contest, reports Seth Michaels of the AFL-CIO Now Blog.
