MD Union Members Receive Labor Scholarships

Two Maryland union members were among five winners of this year's Union Plus National Labor College (NLC) Scholarship. Shannye Carroll, of AFSCME Local 2380, and AFGE Local 32 member Mazzie Simmons received the scholarships for the 2007 spring semester. "We are dedicated to the continued growth of the Labor Movement," says Leslie Tolf, President of Union Privilege who provides Union Plus benefits. "Two key ways Union Plus participates in development are by assisting union members who are pursuing higher education and supporting the NLC," Tolf adds.
