DC Activists Head to US Social Forum

By bus, plane, van, and car, dozens of DC area activists
are heading to Atlanta, GA today for the first-ever United States Social Forum. Building on the
World Social Forums, which have brought together leaders from movements across
the globe, thousands of workers, grassroots activists, and students from every
type of struggle are meeting for five days to share stories and strategies at
the US Social Forum. Participants from the metro DC area include members of SEIU
Local 32BJ, CWA District 2, the AFL-CIO, DC Jobs with Justice, DC ACORN, Empower
DC, ONE DC, Tenants and Workers United, Youth Action Research Group, DC Jobs
with Justice, Mobilization for Global Justice, and students from American
University, Georgetown, George Washington University, and George Mason
