Students Join Labor Chorus Benefit Concert

Monday, May 14, 2007

Students from DC’s Shepherd Elementary School will join their music teacher, Ken Giles, and the rest of the D.C. Labor Chorus for a medley of civil rights songs at the June 2 concert by the DC Labor Chorus to benefit the Dinner Program for Homeless Women. Tickets are going fast: click here to order yours. The Dinner Program provided more than 100,000 meals and a wide variety of other services to area homeless at the First Trinity Lutheran Church last year. The Labor Chorus includes members from many area unions and has performed at venues across the region, from music festivals, union conferences and National Labor College events, to rallies and picket lines, “spreading solidarity and building spirit and hope,” according to Chorus member Fred Solowey.
