Getting Out The Union Vote in DC Ward 4 Race

Friday, April 27, 2007

Union members will be out in force across DC’s Ward 4 this Saturday, door-knocking for labor-endorsed City Council candidate Muriel Bowser, who’s running to fill the seat vacated by DC Mayor Adrian Fenty. Labor turnout is expected to be key in Tuesday’s Special Election, reports Metro Council Political Coordinator Rick Powell. “With low voter turnout projected and 19 candidates running, the margin of victory in this race could be razor-thin,” says Powell, “and we plan to provide crucial edge with the union vote.” Photo from the Muriel Bowser campaign website
