Landmark Union Building's New Life

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)IBEW Local 26 features the new Marriott Marquis on the cover of the most recent edition of the local’s quarterly publication. Union-built and now staffed by union members, the Marquis incorporates the former headquarters of the AFL, a historic building at the corner of 9th and Massachusetts Avenue that subsequently served as the headquarters of the Plumbers. “Given the building’s rich history, it seems all the more fitting that organized labor should be lovingly constructing its next chapter,” says the IN Charge report.
