Just days after nurses at MedStar

UC), the hospital announced the purchase of
60 new wheelchairs. Nurses working at the
region’s largest medical center have reported
a critical shortage of basic equipment and
supplies, despite the hospital grossing over
$1.1 billion in 2011 “Nurses at WHC and
across the city will continue to work to
protect patients and to push hospitals and
others to do the right thing,” said NNU,
which represents the nurses.
