Labor on the Move: Jeff Guido & Rod Easter Hired as Reps for CHOICE

Easter have joined Stephen Courtien as the field staff
representatives for CHOICE, Community Hub for Opportunities in Construction
Employment, the new building and construction trades organization for the
national capital region (Mark Coles Tapped to Lead New
Capital Region Building and
Construction Trades Organization 4/2/2014 UC),
effective July
1. “I am confident that Jeff, Rod and Steve have the
knowledge, temperament and ability to effectively communicate with developers,
owners and management professionals in the greater Baltimore/Washington, DC
construction market,” said CHOICE Executive Director Mark Coles. “They have
each proven that they can build working coalitions with community leaders and
public agencies.” Jeff Guido is currently an Organizer and Legislative
Director
for the Maryland State Pipe Trades Association, and currently serves as the
Vice President of Plumbers & Gas Fitters Local 5. He’s also one of
two Building Trades representatives who serve on U.S. Representative Steny
Hoyer's "Make it in America" committee. Rod Easter was most
recently the President of the Baltimore Building Trades Council, served on the
transition team for Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, and serves
on the advisory committee for the Red Line rail initiative in Baltimore.
Stephen Courtien has been a member of the Painters union since 1998, and most
recently served as the Business/Legislative Representative for the Washington
DC Building and Construction
Trades Council. Prior to his service with CHOICE and the Building Trades
Council, Courtien served in several different capacities for IUPAT and
