DC LaborFest Adds 3 More Events
Friday, April 18, 2014(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Elizabeth Warren, the senior United States Senator from Massachusetts, will discuss her new memoir on May 2 at the AFL-CIO, The American Nurse film opens a week-long run on May 8, exploring some of the biggest issues facing America through the work and lives of five registered nurses, and the Laborers will host a rare tour of their museum on May 28. The first-ever DC LaborFest includes the 14th annual DC Labor FilmFest, appearances by AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka and Metro Council president Jos Williams in an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Henry V, Joe Uehlein’s Birthday Tribute to Pete Seeger and nearly three dozen other labor arts events during the month of May.
