New Website Builders Generate Excitement Among Local Labor Communicators
Monday, April 14, 2014
(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Local labor communicators were “blown away” by the
ease of use, low cost and professional look possible with Weebly, SquareSpace
and WIX, popular website builders explored in a presentation by IFPTE’s Chris
Langford (right)
at the group’s meeting last Friday. A real “deal-clincher” for many was
the
ability in Weebly to automatically generate a mobile version of your website
when you build your desktop version, as well as integrated social media links,
plug-and-play design templates with “drag and drop” design interfaces,
“making
it super easy to build your site,” Langford said. Langford has just posted
his
informative overview on the Local Communicators Facebook group; check it out OR

join if you’re a local communicator and not already signed up. The group’s
next
meeting is Friday, May 9, when UFCW 400’s Karlyn Williams will present tips
on
crafting copy and design for effective flyers and Chris Langford will show how
to use copy and design in Word.
