AFL-CIO to Lead Protest at Heritage Foundation Today
Monday, March 31, 2014
(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)AFL-CIO Executive Vice President Tefere
Gebre (left) will lead today’s protest at the Heritage Foundation to highlight
their efforts to restrict the minimum wage and strip workers’ rights. The
protest (which does not include
civil disobedience) starts at
11:30a at 214 Massachusetts Ave NE (next to Union Station). Heritage Foundation
President Jim DeMint last week refused to debate AFL-CIO President Richard
Trumka on the minimum wage and Heritage, the influential right-wing think tank,
continues to lead efforts to block economic opportunity for America’s minimum
wage workers. photo: Gebre
