(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

A new campaign from AFGE takes a closer look at the hardworking men and women who are the dedicated public servants caring for our veterans, defending our borders and keeping our food safe to eat. The campaign aims “to break down the stereotypes that some folks have about federal employees and the federal government, and to highlight all the great work that federal employees are doing,” says AFGE President J. David Cox Sr. “The best way to do this is through federal employees’ own voices.” The campaign will revolve around 15 short-form documentaries, which will be released through the year. Each documentary will recount the story of one member or group of members from the same agency and explore what public service means to them and their families. AFGE also will spread the word through traditional and social media. - AFL-CIO Now blog
