Volunteers from a dozen
international unions placed door hangers throughout two different Northern
Virginia legislative districts on Saturday, calling upon those members of the
House of Delegates to support expansion of Medicaid to cover the 400,000
Virginians without health care. "All of us know someone
hoping and praying
they or a family member doesn't become ill or injured," said NoVA Labor
President Dan Duncan. "These folks need our help to become more
financially stable." Virginia's elected officials return to Richmond on
Monday in special session to pass a budget that includes Gov. Terry McAuliffe's
call for Medicaid expansion. photos: Julie Emery of SEIU VA 512 (right)
