"How to Jump Start Your Union: Lessons from the Chicago Teachers Union" Tonight at Busboys & Poets

Mark Brenner, Director of Labor Notes, Elizabeth Davis, President of the Washington Teachers Union and Daniel del Pielago, Education Organizer at Empower DC tonight celebrate the release of "How to Jump-Start Your Union" a new book from Labor Notes that tells how activists transformed their union and gave members hope. The book talk starts at 6:30p at Busboys and Poets (5th Street) and former Union Cities Assistant Mobilizer Julia Kann – who now works at Labor Notes – will also be on hand. Bread & Roses is a monthly labor series that features a variety of events focused on workers and organized labor. Each month brings a new topic through interactive discussions, film screenings, and performances.
