Reverend Curry "Outstanding Citizen Award" Winner

Wilhelmina J. Rolark Outstanding Citizen
Award winner, which will be awarded at the
37th annual
Evening with Labor on March 15.

A member of Faith Strategies, which supports
labor and community causes, Rev.
Curry has been a supporter of workers for the
long haul. He helped lead the
fight for the Large Retailer Accountability Act
and then, following the mayor's
veto and the DC City Council's failure to
override it, he helped champion
minimum wage and paid sick days legislation and
played a key role in supporting
Giant and Safeway workers through tough
contract negotiations, which
included a strike authorization
vote. He’s also served on the Nationals
stadium PLA task force.
