DC COPE Interviews DC City Council Candidates

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Union members gathered last Tuesday to interview eight candidates running for the DC City Council in wards 1, 3, 5, 6, as well as in the At-Large and Chair races.  “It was a good opportunity to hear candidates’ visions for the city and to ask probing questions on labor issues” says DC COPE Chair Fred Allen.  The Committee on Political Education (COPE) is expected to make recommendations for endorsements in the DC mayoral and City Council races to the Metro Washington Council’s Executive Board on Monday, February 24 (mayoral candidates were interviewed last month).
