trace your food and
jump-start your union at the next two Bread
& Roses events at the 5th
Street Busboys and Poets. In “Tracing Our Food: Connecting
the Dots in our (Preferred) Food
Supply Chain,” – next Monday, Feb 17
from 6-8p – the UFCW’s R. Dennis Olson
will lead a discussion about the importance of
building alternative sustainable
food supply chains and the promise of union
co-ops. And in “How to Jump-Start Your
Union,” -- Wednesday, March 5 --
Labor Notes will host a book party for “How
to Jump-Start Your Union,” which
tells how Chicago teachers transformed their
union and gave members hope.
Washington Teachers Union President Elizabeth
Davis will join former Union
Cities Assistant Mobilizer Julia Kann (now a
Labor Notes staffer) to talk about
the new book and local teacher
struggles.
