Federal Workers Demand "Shared Prosperity, Not Austerity"
Tuesday, February 11, 2014(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
Federal union
members – in town for AFGE’s annual legislative conference – staged two
events
yesterday, rallying at noon (right)
at the U.S. Capitol to demand “Shared Prosperity, Not Austerity”
and then holding a candlelight vigil at 5p to remember the lives of fallen
correctional officers Eric Williams, Jose Rivera and Osvaldo Albarati. A number
of top Congressional allies joined AFGE at their conference – whose theme is
“big enough to win” – and at the rally and vigil. Click here for Joe Davidson’s report in The Washington Post.
