Wednesday, February 5, 2014
(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Students from all three cohorts of the
Hospitality Express 4 Success program
graduated January 29 and received their
industry-recognized certifications and
completion certificates. The program
provided a 15-week training program
operated by a partnership including the
Community Services Agency, The Training
Source and Prince George’s Community College,
with job placement activities
designed to help students get good initial jobs
in the growing hospitality
industry upon program completion. “The
boost this program gave these 30
young people will help them launch
self-sustaining careers with some of our
area’s best hospitality employers,” said
CSA Executive Director Kathleen
McKirchy. “We really appreciate and thank our
partner organizations as well as
the Community Foundation’s Greater Washington
Workforce Development
Collaborative, the Meyer Foundation and the
Washington Area Women’s Foundation
for supporting our program.” Many of the
students have already landed jobs and
job development activities continue through the
end of the grant period. - photo by
