Labor On The Move: AFSCME 3976's Larry Mcclain-El Retires

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)After 42 years of service in government, Larry
McClain-El (l) of the Foreign
Agricultural Service’s (FAS) Office of
Capacity Building and Development has
retired. McClain-El served “almost half of
those years as either union officer
or a proactive member,” reports AFSCME 3976,
which represents workers at FAS.
“Larry was involved in many of the early
challenges that faced the local
including the first contract, the FAS
Partnership Council and more recently he
served as Treasurer. We will miss Larry
for his careful, level-headed
counsel and advice.”
