Jan. 31 Deadline Looms For Union Plus Scholarship Applications
Monday, January 27, 2014(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
The clock is
ticking down for unionists and their families to apply for Union Plus college scholarships, the Union Privilege
Benefits Program warns. Electronic applications are due by noon, Jan. 31.
Winners receive scholarships ranging from $500 to $4,000 yearly to help defray
college expenses. Students may re-apply each year, so if someone
doesn’t
get a scholarship but goes to college anyway, he or she may re-apply at the end
of the first college year and subsequent years. The scholarships are one of
many benefits that Union Privilege offers workers and their families. In
their 22-year history, scholarship awards committees have distributed more than
$3.5 million in aid to more than 2,300 winners. Click here to apply.
