If you can come out to show your support it will be much appreciated. Wear your union colors so we can let everyone know that organized labor cares about all workers, especially low-wage workers and their families.” The Metro Washington Council has been working on this issue in coalition with affiliates and community allies, including UFCW 1994, UFCW 400, Respect DC, Progressive Maryland, Jews United For Justice, the NAACP and others. The DC City Council is also expected to vote soon on increasing the minimum wage in the District.
