Hands-On Union Training at NLC This Summer

union training,” says the National Labor College, which is offering several
classes that may be of interest to area union leaders, staff or
members. New
Union Staff
(August 11-16) “is
valuable for those newly appointed or elected to a full-time union staff
position or who have held their position for several years and want to update

“is an ideal course for staff new to organizing, as well as those who want to
learn more about the latest strategies to grow their union.” Contract
Negotiations in the Private Sector (September 8-13),
explores "the
unique challenges posed by private sector contract negotiations" as well
as the role of the chief negotiator, from preparing initial proposals to
ratifying a contract. All courses are offered at the Maritime
Institute
(MITAGS)
in Linthicum, MD. Tuition and fees for five-day courses are $1,099. NLC’s
