Labor Photo: PG Taxi Drivers Protest Grows
Friday, June 28, 2013(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
Prince George’s County taxi drivers were out
again in force
picketing the Gaylord National Hotel and Resort at National Harbor
yesterday. “Cabs that honk in solidarity w/ Gaylord protest get
ticketed,
but not every car,” tweeted TheFightBack.
“Not ticketed: car w/ diplomat plates, food truck, Metro bus.” Hotel
security
reportedly told NBC 4 not to film, and picketers have also been threatened
with arrest, though cops admit the peaceful demonstrators are breaking no
laws. The drivers have been fighting for the right to pick up customers in
front of the Gaylord. - photo by Tami
