Metro Council Endorses April 10 Immigration Reform Rally

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)The Metro Washington Council’s Executive Board has voted to endorse the April 10 "Time Is Now for Immigration Reform" Rally on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capital Building at 3p. “With comprehensive immigration reform a top priority for the entire labor movement, as well as a concern of many Metro Council affiliates, we’re urging widespread participation in this rally,” said Metro Council President Jos Williams. “UFCW 1994 MCGEO is planning to send down a busload of members and staff to show their support,” he added. A number of unions, including CWA, LIUNA and SEIU 32BJ, along with many labor allies like CASA de Maryland and the Alliance for Citizenship are mobilizing for the April 10 rally.
