Local News: Cumberland Police Contract Approved

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)The Cumberland (MD) City Council unanimously approved a contract last week covering 43 police officers retroactively effective July 1, 2012, reports UFCW 1994 MCGEO, which represents the officers. The agreement, which enhances working conditions and strengthens language in areas affecting schedules and paid time off, is a 3-year deal with economic reopeners for the second and third years.
