Solidarity Center Report: Worker Updates from Nigeria, Bangladesh

After decades in which few women were part of union leadership in the
National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), more union women
are running for office while also making concrete gains in establishing
family-friendly polices at the national and local union levels. In Bangladesh,
shrimp industry representatives and the Solidarity Center signed a memorandum of
agreement this week that moves toward improving working conditions for the
nearly 1 million shrimp workers who toil during peak season across the supply
